     LNG Lerici

LNG Lerici  LNG Lerici is one really interesting in designer point of view vessel. The gas carrier has overall length of 216.14 meters, while the length between perpendiculars is 205.00 meters. The beam of the gas carrier is 33.90 meters. The ship has depth of 21.26 meters and draft of 8.20 meters, while fully loaded. The air draft of the vessel is 46.00 meters, while the distance between the keel and the top highest point is 54.00 meters. The ship is really impressive with design and engineering. We will give a little bit more specifications, which are interesting from the navigation point of view. The distance between the bow and the manifold
is 105.72 meters. LNG Lerici has deadweight of 35,761 metric tons, while the gross tonnage of the vessel is 46,555 gross tons. The ship has net tonnage of 13,966 net tons and capacity of 65,299 cubic meters. This beautiful LNG carrier was completed on 31st March 1998 in the Fincantieri ship-yard in Genova, Italy. The ship is sailing under Italian flag, having IMO number 9064085 and call sign IBBL. The gas carrier is operated by LNG Shipping S.p.A. which is large Italian company engaged in importing natural gas in the European company. And definitely the most successful and most profitable vessel is the carrier LNG Lerici. The ship has large cargo capacity and strong engineering. LNG Lerici is really high quality vessel with strong machinery and unique design, proper for the dangerous class of cargo, which is carried. The ships from this class are always having double hulls and high quality machinery for safety operating. The cargo space of the ship is divided into 4 cargo tanks equipped with cargo pumps from J.C. Carter, which are vertical centrifugal, single LNG Lerici cargostage, driven by electrical power. Each tank has 2 cargo pumps, each with capacity of 800 cubic meters per hour, with density limitation of 500 kg per cubic meters and minimum temperature of - 164° C. Easily we can calculate that the ship will be discharged for about 12 hours, using all pumps.

The main engine of the gas carrier LNG Lerici is created by Bono Eneragia Peschiera Borromeo, which redesigned Deutz engine. The main engine has total power of 6,253 kW, which is enough for the vessel to operate with more than 18.8 knots service speed, while the maximum speed is over 19.8 knots. The ship has reliable and very strong machinery and propulsion system. The ship-yard, where this vessel was created in among the most quality in the world, which is good prove for the reliability of the ship. The dangerous types of cargo, which are carried on board, definitely are supported very good LNG Lerici shipfrom the new membrane system. On board is used the membrane technology of Gaz Transport. The four cargo holds are created through the internal insulation of the holds. This increases the ship’s safety and makes the vessel highly environmental. The dangerous cargo, which is transported, usually is not causing and risk for the eco-stability. The crew on board is highly trained, because the human factor is one of the most important in ship operating. The gas carrier LNG Lerici, definitely fulfill all the IMO requirements and the voyages, which she makes are not only profitable but also environmental.
