Majesty is cruise ship, which became quite famous last days. The
ship was hit by large wave and gave 2 victims from its passengers.
In spite of this fact, we wanted to present you some information
about the beautiful and quite modern cruise ship, operated by Louis
Cruise Line. The ship was built in 1991 in the ship-yard of Kvaerner-Masa
Yards in Turku, Finland by the ship-builder Wartsila Marine. The
ship-yard is really among the highest quality of the world and the
ship was built according to latest requirements for the year of
1991. The ship was first property of Majesty Cruise Line, later
sold to Norwegian Cruise Line, then to Star Cruises and finally
reached the company Louis Cruise Line. Many people tell that the
company owning this ship has Russian origin, but these facts are
still not proved. We can tell that the cruise ship Louis Majesty
is high quality and having great design and engine for the operation,
which was engaged in. The ship has length of 207.26meters, the beam
of 27.60 meters and the draft of 6.20 meters, when fully loaded.
The cruise ship has these measurements, after refitting in 1999,
because the length was increased with about 30 meters, in case to
be able to carry more passengers. With these measurements the ship
has gross tonnage of 40,876 gross tons. The cruise ship from such
rank should be reliable and needs of strong engine. The main engine
of Louis Majesty is Wartsila 6R42 and the ship owns 4 units, which
are giving total power of 21,120 kW. This is high power needed for
such large ship with large capacity to sail over the oceans. The
main engine is giving enough power to the twin propellers to reach
the speed of 20.5 knots. This is quite high speed for ship, but
normal for cruise ship, because we all know that cruise  ships
are in high need of high speed. The ship Louis Majesty has capacity
to carry 1,460 passengers, who will be served by 620 crew members.
The ship has large number of entertainments, restaurants and parks.
Everything on board is made to be good for the people visiting this
ship and spending their vacation there.
And when talking about accidents with the ship, it looks
that they are not one or two. In 1995 the ship grounded in the Rose
and Crown Shoal near Massachusetts. The navigation officers made
a terrible mistake of 17 miles with calculating the position and
the ship with more than 1,500 persons on board grounded in the shoal.
The accidents on board are many, but definitely the ship will offer
nice vacation for the passengers and the crew will do the best for
you good time.
